The best laid plans of mice and men...

We'll I'm back off my jollies and no, I haven't started planning the next one yet! i've been asked that daily since returning.

As I didn't quite get up and running with the mobile phone updates i'll have to get sorting through the pictures and give you a blast through some of the things I ate whilst away.

From now on I hope to update the site with some more regular and closer to home musings on anything interesting (good or bad) that I've been scoffing.

Feast of the Throne

The excitement that i displayed when i read in simon calder's column in the independent that Wednesday is a public holiday and feast of the thrown was enough to cause stir steph from reading the sun and give me the look. I am a little excited like and this only served to make me more like a kid at christmas. That it is also a feast has got me positively salivating. I'll keep you in formed of how it pans out.

Ten days to go...

This blog is about the things I eat, not the day to day stuff like the cheese savoury sandwich I had at work today, but the out of the ordinary. I hope to keep a record of the food consumed on my travels, I might even do a retrospective when I run dry.

It's ten days today until i go to Morocco. I'm beginning to get excited but, I suspect the lads are too. Hopefully I'll be able to send photo blogs from my phone to keep people posted on what I've been scoffing whilst I'm out there.

I was on a course at the Tyneside Cinema last week and it was suggested I publish a blog of my trip as all I talked about was the things I was going to eat.

Here's a list of the things I'd like to get my chops around:
  • Camel
  • Brains (lamb)
  • Merguez in the Djemaa el Fna
  • Snails
  • Locusts
  • Goats heed
  • Sardines in Essaouira
  • Conga
  • Argan oil
  • Ras el hanout (a few to compare and contrast)
  • Nice bit of pigeon
